ASCI take our safety of our members and participants seriously, and while COVID-19 is not effecting any activities to date, we have brought forward an action plan to help manage the process should things change.
Learn to Skate Clinics
Currently the learn to skate programs are running as per normal. Its important during a quarantine or lockdown period to make sure we are supporting the coaches and young people, so if there is a closure of these activities, our aim is to provide all registrants with video coaching online with an accredited coach.
Minor Events and Minor Competitions
In the event of a risk, Quarantine or lockdown, if possible these events will be rescheduled to a later date. Alternatively budgets will be reallocated towards products for the locals and video competitions to utilise the digital world. This will also be subject to discussions with the council and partners on best way forward.
The Toowoomba Mayoral, Skatefest Kiama, Rumble on the Reef and Shellharbour will all be going ahead as planned right now. These will be monitored closely but no decisions will be made until about 30 days before the event.
The Main focus will be to keep skateboarders and young people connected to the community whether it be digital or in the field, and second focus will be to make sure coaches, judges and officials are able to stay involved in skateboarding in the interim.
