Rumble on the Reef is a skateboarding festival based along the Great Barrier Reef coastline in Mackay Queensland.
The festival is run in conjunction with the Australian Skateboarding Community Initiative, Mackay Regional Council, Etnies and the Australian Skateboarding Federation. The event is for the Australian Skateboarding community, from contest skaters to anyone who loves skateboarding, for the community and for new people to experience why skateboarding is such an amazing culture.
Skateboarders wanted a way to showcase Australia and how amazing our skateboarding talent, culture and country is. Moving major events out of capital cities and into regions like Mackay which shows the real Australia is a huge focus to promote Australian Skateboarding on a Global Level.
Having the festival on the Great Barrier Reef doorstep is not only a great asset for visitors, but can help educate people from all across Australia and the globe on the importance of caring for the Reef.
This is for the skaters, the brands, the partners and everyone involved in skateboarding to have a week in a tropical location and enjoy skateboarding culture in one place.
